With Turkey Vultures. While we were at the edge of the field, we saw these birds fly in from the southwest and begin soaring over the woods to our south. What we noticed first was their different flight style: they flapped more rapidly and with shallower wingbeats than the Turkey Vultures. As they approached, we saw the silvery patches at the ends of their wings, and that they had broader wings and shorter tails than the Turkey Vultures. As they soared above the woods, they were visible intermittently above the trees and through gaps in the trees, but eventually they passed out of view for good. I got a couple poor but identifiable photos, the best of which is below.
