NOTES: (Sex: ?probably male; Breeding stat:?probably territorial, ?breeding; Season: spring; Gen. climate: arid; Cover density: sparse; Strata: song perch; Gen Hab: brush grassland ) [Eighty-three songs recorded in seven parts. In the first two parts, the bird alternates between two different song-types (0:05-0:44). Third part contains two examples of a third song-type (0:49-0:56) and the fourth part contains a single example of this same song-type (1:10-1:12). The fifth part alternates between two new song-types (with minor modification, 1:23-3:21) before switching abruptly to yet another song-type at 3:24, and continuing with this type to the next break in tape at 4:00. The sixth part begins with the same song-type highlighted at the end of the fifth part, but it switches to a new type after only one song (at 4:10), before eventually switching back again at 5:14. An altogether new song-type is introduced at 5:52, and after two songs (5:58), yet another type is used for the first time. The bird then alternates between these two types until the end of the recording (but with two of the songs preceded by an additional element - those beginning at 6:28 and 6:37). In all, this recording appears to contain at least nine different song-types. Quality changed from 1-2 to 2-1, 2 (the songs of Vireo bellii make the recording a little busy in places; the BEST parts of the recording are at 2:49-3:54 and 6:27-6:46) - CAM - 10 February 2005]. Habitat: Grassland, Thicket/Brush.
