Подробности наблюдения
Continuing. Promptly heard and seen at approximately 6:30am and seen continuously until about 6:45am. Seen in the vicinity of the lone cottonwood tree across (west) of the small creek and slightly downstream of the metal gate structure (on the trail south of the pond #3 boat ramp and parking area). After the 10 minutes the bird flew west back down into the dense willows. Approximately the size of a Say's Phoebe, but more compact in structure with a bulky body and short tail. Cool gray upperparts and slightly warmer gray underparts (paler and tan-tinged). Darker (blackish) crown contrasting with body. Pale gray collar and black eye. Heavy black bill. Crescent shaped rose-colored patch (appeared iridescent at times) on throat diagnostic. Call was a squeaky, downward "Teeeeeuuuuu" call, slightly buzzy and reminiscent of a rubber ducky noise. Song was a jumbled series of squeaky notes with the same quality as the call.
