Originally seen yesterday by John Vooys but he couldn't confirm it. The bird's identification was confirmed today by us. It was mostly low to the ground in the blackberry bushes and branches. Sometimes it would perch higher up (around 10' high). It frequently flew down into the manure and straw piles to grab the flies that were there, and then it would return to its perch. It dipped its tail several times, which is characteristic of this species. It also made a 'whit' call a few times. The bird was light gray overall with a long bill with a black tip (dipped in ink). Photos were obtained (see below). This was the first ever record for the Fraser Valley region!
