NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 3. Bulk reel: 78 a) 6:45 AM. Some purrs, the first sounds I heard this AM; after this some "tic" or "chik" calls that I believe were also given by this species. Both sounds were recorded incidentally while trying to record Nothocrax, which is also heard on this recording. Quality: 3. Level: 3. 24" parabola? 3 3/4". b) ~5:55 AM. Cloudy. Natural song phrases, with purrs. May be same bird as a), or may be different. Quality: 2+. Level: +3. 3 3/4". c) 6:05 AM. Cloudy. Natural song. This [is] definitely a different bird from b). Quality: 2+. Level: +3. 7.5". d) ~6:20 AM. Some purrs and other calls, also some song. I don't know if the thin whistles like Caprimulgus cayanensis are of that species or of the present one but I suspect the former. Quality: 2. Level: +3. 3 3/4".
