Sandhill Crane (pratensis) family of 3 on golf course

These birds are here year round. Pair and pair with immature born in April seen today. Latter group was observed coming out of wooded creek area, walking across golf course to the feeder area and eating corn there on the ground. We also watched the pair feeding in another area. One would probe the ground and come up with an acorn. Then it would peck hard at the acorn with beak to get the yellow nut inside.
