NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 14. Bulk reel: 264 Weather: Fair. This recording resulted from just leaving the machine on with open mike. I believe we find in it ample proof that the "complex call" mentioned above is really of this species. Several birds are heard singing the regular "song" of this species and it is occasionally interrupted by one of the complex calls. At about 3' there is an especially good example suggesting with little doubt that the same bird gives both. As further indication, I heard one of the "complex calls" from a nearby clump of trees. I immediately went there and collected the only Dendrocolaptid I found there. It proved to be of this species, specimen #4896 male in the R.G. collection. PS. Quality: 3. Level: +14. No parabola used. [Recordist did not indicate type of microphone used.] Note: This has been later established beyond all doubt.
