NOTES: 38 (37/1) songs and two long calls of BIRD #2 recorded in two parts at 7:04:46 and 7:14:12; continued after a break from cut #99-98-01; the bird began again with a long call at 6:56:15 am, and then songs soon thereafter; the bird was in the same general area that it was using for cut #99-98-01 (though I walked out to the road and back again between the two); the bird appeared to cross the road to the south briefly before returning to the north side of the road where I generally encountered it (either that, or it went quiet and another bird began singing to the south of the road); the bird was 30 meters away and 25-30 meters up almost directly overhead; recorded in good, terra firme forest, 200-300 meters short of Estrada do Gave¿, along road to the house and the Rio Barra Seca [19¡ 04Õ 21" S, 39¡, 53Õ 47" W]; dense overcast, slight breeze, 76¡ F; an unbroken cut with an internal announcement; the slash in the above designation refers to the bird moving positions, not a break in the tape. ML: Subject changed from recordist's original identification of Xiphorhynchus guttatus guttatus to Xiphorhynchus guttatus [guttatus Group] to conform to eBird Taxonomy (v. 1.55). -Jay McGowan/Matt Medler, July 2015. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest.
