Re-found by Scott earlier and continuing. The yellow-rumped flock was convening and 2 birders were confident they had it flying near the road so I scanned the cedar about here (40.446665, -73.991159) and thankfully it came into the light. Much better views today - gray head, white eye-ring, yellow-green wash on breast. Nearby pine warblers in the flock today were tricky but the vireo is much brighter yellow. Photos to be added. Many observers.
