Continuing female initially observed atop McCarthy Rose on East side of parking area at about 0825. Shortly after watched feeding on the ground immediately East of parking lot east fence, and in Hercules Club next to the port-a-john. Eventually flew back to McCarthy Rose. Observed for Calling several times. "Sphic" call similar to a Cardinal but not quite as sharp. Slightly slimmer and smaller than a Northern Cardinal. Cool tan underparts, slightly grayer face. Darker upperparts. Dusky coloration around bill and lores. Dusky straw colored bill. Dark iris. Prominently curved culmen, unlike the conical bill of a Northern Cardinal. Slightly reddish crest. Primaries and retrices reddish. Pink underwing linings observed in flight. "Cute as a button" -Grace
