late, looked like a young male. great close views on west side of 1a, unfortunately flushed into a different tree when i lifted camera. larger than nearby sparrows, boldly striped head with thick white eyebrow & mustache, white wingbars, heavy pinkish bill, bit of pink in the underwing in flight. managed one very bad pic where head is obscured.
