Medium-sized raptor with mottled plumage seen high up a raintree (akasya). Rounded pigeon-like head and less robust tarsus and toes distinguishes it from the Philippine Hawk-Eagle. Individual observed moving from branch to branch, pausing to preen, before taking flight in circles and departing eastwards.
