Fairly chunky Pterodroma petrel. Slaty black overall with dark hood, pale foreface focussed around lores, double white flashes on otherwise dark underwing, faint dark M on upper wings. No white showing in primary shafts. Chunky beak. Single bird seen near dusk, flying quite fast and energetically in moderate wind.
