Continuing juvenile first found by Russell Koxx on November 7. We first found it on the palms along the west end of the solar panels, and then it made its way around to the palms at the northeast corner of the solar panel area, where it spent most of its time. was forging in the palm trees and on the ground on the west and north side of the solar panels. A really cool looking bird even though he didn't have a nice red head yet. Gray and black head, upper chest and mantle. The mantle feathers looked like they were gray and tipped with black forming a rather striking pattern. When perched there was a broad patch of white across the folded wings formed from the white secondaries and tertials. The primary tips were black. In flight there was a big striking flash of white from the secondaries and tertials with a line of black spots in the white, and a black subterminal stripe along the flight feathers. The rump was white and tail black with very spiky central tail feathers. Description written by Debbie.
