***Very Rare. Only 5 previous records in Massachusetts. Excellent find today by Jon Skinner. Small Calcariid with black bases to belly feathers which rules out all other Longspurs. Indistinct but complicated facial pattern, visible eye ring, and bold black and white tail pattern; the black being confined to a central triangle pattern. Photos and video.
