观察细节

Birds very vocal at one hour past sunset. At least four pairs calling loudly in the valley. First pair on the northern side of the entrance road before the trail map. Second pair on the opposites side corner near the chain gate but too deep to observe. Third pair deeper in toward the creek trail head. Remaining pair which was also observed the night prior at the trail intersection where the memorial plaque is located. Female called very loudly on western side within 10m of trail edge. I sat quietly and listened to her moving through the scrub and her nasal snuffling. She called again when the male duetted in and he was right behind me. He quickly appeared out of the bush and crossed the track within 3m. A big bird with round fluffy grey coat with obvious brown spotting. Surreal experience and one to remember.
