On 26 August 2016, KT observed an unknown crake at a location (45.33°N 105.64°E) between Khuld and Luus sums of Dundgobi province by the main paved road linking the capital Ulaanbaatar city with the Dalanzadgad town, the capital of Umnugobi province. The surrounding area of the sighting characterized by desert steppe vegetation, dominated by scattered Caragana sp., Allium mongolicum, A. polyrhizum, and Stipa sp. and soft sandy soil.
