*Uncommon migrant. Flushed from along dike on south side of ditch that runs along south side of main pond, about halfway down, near where they were last year. Nice looks at one as it perched up and then foraged for several minutes. Second bird seen only in flight a little to the east of the first, but looked to be small, rather dark, with a ragged tail. Note: birders should obtain permission from ponds manager Paul Vidovich before attempting to enter the unit.
