观察细节
I noticed a loud and unfamiliar song while walking around the sewer pond this morning. It was coming from the base of a large tamarisk next to the water. The heavy brush prevented me from getting good views of the bird before it flew to the other side of the pond. I did, however, get a glimpse of the bird's brown backside as I was looking down towards the water. It had a thin warbler bill. It appeared to be bobbing or pumping its tail up and down. Northern Waterthrush came to mind, so I listened to a recording of NOWA song. It seems like a possible match. I checked eBird records for spring sightings of Northern Waterthrush this year and known were found/reported. Obviously, finding a NOWA is unlikely. At any rate, I'd appreciate others opinion on the bird.
