There has been some speculation on the age of this bird, and although the bleached out head is suggestive of a 2nd cycle, the checkering on the wing coverts indicates this bird is still in 1st cycle, 2nd cycle should be more solid colored. Therefore it seems logical that it could be the same bird thats been here since Nov. Its interesting to compare the photos of this bird through the winter and watch the progression of bleaching. I hope it sticks around well into spring. Photographed
