NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 28. Bulk reel: 206Time: 6:00 AM to 6:15 AM. Weather: Cloudy and/or foggy. First display heard @ ~6:05AM (not saved: weak). A display by male with mild vocal reaction (presumably by female); then quiet talk by both birds: female probably homologous to "whines" of P. argyrotis and male various but among them an approximate ascending whistle probably homologous to P. argyrotis. Then another display, followed shortly by wing beats as the male flew back to perch. Quality: 2 & 1-2. Level: +2. LN. 203 tape.[Recordist drew a diagram of bird's movements and recording area that obviously cannot be reproduced here. The notes connected to that diagram follow.]Bird crossed the "beam of the reflector during the display and then during the flapping flight on return up hillside. In the display, as seen from one side and slightly below the bird, the wingbeats appeared relatively shallow and mostly or entirely below the horizontal.
