Media notes
Being harrassed and chased by Yellow-legged Gull
Observation details
First bird foraging 70 m from the road before being mobbed by Yellow-legged Gull. Each time the gull stooped at it, the bustard crouched slightly, spread its tail and opened its wings, presumably to appear larger and more threatening - while the white wing patches also became visible and may have been an attempt at threatening the gull. The gull persisted in its attacks and eventually the houbara took flight and flew a considerable distance, several hundred meters. Second bird was very confiding, down to 5m from the road but later wandered off.
