Observation details
The setting is synthetic grass on the back verandah of a holiday house. When we arrived at the house (which had not been inhabited for a week or so), the bird was there. I got close to it but it eventually flushed and flew across the lake into the distance. I really don't know if it was a vagrant wild bird or escaped captive but am aware that the species is nomadic
