Observation details
Walking back from the top having just seen snowcocks we were ecstatic already, and we had basically given up hope on this species after looking for it the entire trip. Suddenly, I just saw one sitting their feeding on the trail, but as soon as I saw it it flushed into a pine tree nearby, but it was still visible. We got down, and watched it sitting obscured for about five minutes. Eventually it started to hop around on some of the branches, and flew down to the ground again, but into some dense grasses, and we could not relocate it. Unfortunately David and James were taking a long time coming down since they would've liked to have seen this bird as well. Still, we were thrilled to see it. Definitely an adult, possibly a male.
