Observation details
Continuing bird photographed and recorded. 2nd ABA record. Singing almost constantly high up in pines. Lower pitched than surrounding cordilleran. Came down low once and ate a bug, giving satisfying views. Bright pale teardrop-shaped eyering, long primary extension, entirely pale orangish underside to the bill, and grayish coloration overall. Initially observed on April 11, but it went under the radar until May 8 when Chris Benesh reviewed a recording and discovered the song elements matched pine. We met Chris at the Nutting's flycatcher spot later this day and thanked him for this incredible find.
