Observation details
The eagle was flying with a duck in its talons when first observed. The eagle landed on an old piling in the Albany mudflat and ate the duck there (see photos). The local crows made a half-hearted attempt at harrassment, with little success. There are few Bald Eagle records at the Albany Bulb, but this is a little surprising to me, given the availability of prey species during the winter months.
