Observation details
Crouching down to photograph a fox sparrow, had a vireo land on branch no more than 4 feet from my face to briefly inspect me. Distinct yellow flanks, white eye and yellow "spectacles". Greenish upperparts. This bird puttered around in the first row of pines, moved to roadside pines until eventually crossing the road into field. Photos taken.
