Observation details
One adult California Gull (possible subspecies californicus) was present with ~120 other adult/immature CAGUs at the point. I got good view for about 15 minutes before it disappeared when the other gulls took off. It preened actively the entire time. The mantle appeared darker compared to the other CAGUs around it, and additionally showed more extensive black than what I expect to see on most of our usual CAGUs.
