Observation details
With the usual caveat of difficult to estimate numbers etc., I think there must have been at least a couple of hundred birds, mainly over the mangroves at the end of the peninsula, moving north - south, backward and forward, low to mid height, calling too. At any given time I could see at least double figures around me, this went on for close to 2 hours. Birds disappeared from the peninsula at 8.10am, on the walk back there was a flock of 30 over the Island Circuit and similar numbers over Wyampa Rd as I drove out. Hot, humid, not much wind, scattered cloud, but largely blue skies. Needletails mixed in, but far fewer in number.
