Media notes
Older fledgling; this is probably stretching it a bit, as their is little to no retained juvenile gape, but clearly a young bird. Associating with an adult about .2 mi east of big pullout area at Mt Madonna and Loma Prieta.
Observation details
Photographed. Adult and older juvenile/fledgling about 2/10 mi east of parking lot. Juvenile appeared similar to the juvenile DEJUs that were also present, but slimmer, with longer tail, and lacking the Buffy heavily streaked breast of the juvenile juncos. Also had a uniform light gray head; adult had black chin. Two more birds, both of which appeared to be older fledglings, were also photographed at parking lot.
