Observation details
Originally reported as Silvereye, but I was contact by the regional reviewer pointing out that the birds we photographed have a green back and yellow lores. The expected subspecies of Silvereye, Vegetus, should show a grey back and would not have yellow lores. Initially we reported a group of 5 silvereyes; working from memory I don't recall any of them differing from the bird(s) we photographed (at the time, we took them to all be the same species), but then at the time we did not correctly Identify them as Ashy-Bellied White-eyes. With the understanding that we initially recorded a group of 5, I am adjusting my report to 2 Ashy-Bellied White eyes as I only have photos of 2 individuals, found on different parts of the island. I will report the other 3 as Silvereye so as to err on the conservative side.
