Interesting bird, first seen further off of a little reedy point with about 60 AMWI but worked closer to the beach toward dusk. From the initial distance at the beach viewing area, the bird seemed to show a lighter gray body, full red head with a cream colored forehead, but the dark contrast behind the eyes stuck out and as it came closer sweeping green feathering behind the eyes came into focus. A pinkish brownish wash on its sides also became visible in better lighting. Very active, bobbing, chasing, splashing and foraging.
