Slightly smaller than nearby song sparrows, crisp fine black streaking, lighter belly with buffy, creamy maler and faint eye ring, bill small and pointy, grayish head. First bird at beginning of “Sparrow alley,” flushed into grasses as 3 muggles walked by. Second bird seen was able to take photo, along near side downward slope of waterway just past the end of the boardwalk. Possibly two additional birds seen as well.
