Super find by Jon Skinner on Dec 4th. Today, it was SE (or left) of the main admin building with a loose group of Horned Larks feeding mostly on the thin grassy strips on the open tarmac. Small, surprisingly so when compared directly to Horned Lark, being about half the body size with small conical bill and more sparrow/finch-like appearance compared to Horned Lark. Overall, quite dull gray-brown but with obvious black smudgy marks on the underparts forming a weak but discernable black belly patch. The pale wing bars did stand out when compared directly against Horned Lark. Seen on and off for about 45 minutes and shared with fellow birders at the scene. Trying to phone-scope through a chain-link fence was not a success! Will check my DLSR for better images.
