First bird seen (photos) out by Sevenmile Canal at the shed. This one showed a solid black auricular patch and minor tinges of brown on forehead. On my way back, about 10 minutes and a mile later, a second bird lit in willow along gravel road/path. Got looks a a much browner individual with a less defined, grayer auricular. Also heavily barred.
