Together on pond adjacent oilfield road. One appeared to be an immature male and the other a female/immature. Largish brown sea ducks with contrasting darker crowns than the rest of the heads. Capped appearance diagnostic along with two concise whitish facial spots. Loral spot more sharply defined than is typically the case for White-winged. No white patch observed on folded wings. Large heavy dark bills with bulging culmens (especially on male).
