Wow! Originally saw this bird during my morning survey. It flew into the large ficus in the day use area before taking off almost immediately. Never refound it before heading up to the platform at 9. When Charlie arrived he walked around for a bit looking for it and when Delaney arrived I began searching for it. No luck, so after the count I searched every spot of the park again when I saw it perched in a Buttonwood aka “Little Bob!” (24.7418766, -80.9822165) It flew out the backside of the tree and when Delaney & Charlie arrived we searched for it until the rain came at sunset. Not refound with them, but tomorrow is another day. This is the 5th (possibly 4th) record for the Florida Keys and first record for Curry Hammock State Park! Also of note, Florida Keys Hawkwatch second record, as the first was found by director Rafael Galvez on 9/17/2014!
