Small shorebird on rocks opposite pier. Gray back, spots on chest, short yellow bill, yellow legs, dark band at end of tail. Merlin Sound ID said Black Turnstone, but appearance doesn't match. Calls in Merlin are similar for these species. Bills too short for Spotted Sandpiper. The birds stopped to forage; so, I counted by scanning across the area with binoculars. I found some closer and took a photo.
