Feeding on the ground and distinctive flight, in flight shows the white outer tail feathers and white on trailing edge of inner wing. Very stripy. Called in flight. We saw one at the same location on November 21 1991. Buffy tones to plumage which distinguishes it from the introduced population of the European Skylark on Vancouver Island
