Seen roadside by South Field. In mixed flock with Song Sparrows, House Finches, Tree Sparrow, Yellow rumped Warblers, and Chickadees. We stopped because we heard Song Sparrows singing but noticed an odd high pitched twittering call also. The Ash throated Flycatcher popped up in front of Margaret and she could see it was a flycatcher. Pale yellow lower belly, pale gray throat and upper breast, rust in wings and undertail. Grayish brown crest on head. Our photos show wing bars, a faint dark eyeline, and fine pointed bill. Most of the time it was head on facing us, so we could not get side or back photos. While I was texting to alert other birders, Margaret watched it fly a short distance where she took a couple more photos before it flew away. We were unable to relocate despite trying with others for at least 15 minutes. The rest of the mixed flock had left as well. First seen about 9:50 am. Total viewing time was at about 2 minutes.
