Truly a wondrous waterfowl. This confounding creature floated out of a small cove (barely a cove) on the east bank of the river as we walked up to the manhole cover. Just before the pipe and “rapids”. Evoked memories of its white-winged congener over in Columbus. Alex and I rushed to take photos scared it may flush, but she was remarkably tame and didn’t look hurt, at least outwardly. We waited with her until reinforcements arrived.
