Heard first while approaching location of recent reports, then heard several more times within dense willow and cattails throughout checklist period. Sharp, emphatic chip call, sometimes singly but often in an evenly paced cadence. One, brief, clear look perched very near the ground in willow thicket. Small to medium sized sparrow. Grayer and paler overall than SOSP with indistinct streaking on a pale gray breast. Reddish-brown crown and line extending back from eye. Redish-brown wings and buffy flanks. Distinct white chin patch. Flagged - Rare. Audio.
