The bird is clearly smaller than Ruff as seen on the images, but appears bigger than the smallest of the waders. Beak is dark, quite long and weakly bent down. Compared with body size, the beak appears a bit longer than in Dunlin. Flying bird shows a narrow white wing band, that on the primaries become much wider and more fuzzy. There are noe white/light stripes down the back, but the rump is clearly wide and white, which does not extend up on the back. Belly is quite light (most apparent on the flying bird). Legs appear dark.
