Adult molting out of breeding plumage. Rufous scapulars and head with rufous cheek patches and crown, gray chevrons on chest and flanks, white belly. Legs black and longer than the yellow legs of Least Sandpiper with which it was associating. Bill black with slight droop at the tip, slightly longer than the Least’s bill. My first breeding plumage bird of this species, so a real treat.
