I was driving down Shell and saw this Wilson’s Snipe in the middle of the road. It had been migrating and was so exhausted that it stopped to roost in the middle of the road. It would not, could not, move. I stopped traffic to pick up this precious creature, so soft, light, and fluffy. Indeed, it always amazes me when I pick up a bird, how light they are. I moved the snipe into some grass well off the road.
