First seen distant over the NW corner of pond 2 at 8:05 am, when I blurted out "Cliff Swallow" to Dieter, but in the next second knew that it was wrong with that rufous rump. The bird came close enough twice to clinch the ID before heading S towards I-95 around 8:11 am. Compact swallow, which was fairly pale below. Mostly dark head, without a white forehead. Good numbers at Cape May yesterday. Manny had a handful at the Navy Yard at the same time.
