Initially ID'd as an orchard oriole based on general structure and small size. However, when I uploaded the pictures, I started doubting due to the bill that seemed quite curvy. I have put the observation on the Advanced ID Facebook group. Feedback was received from several experienced birders, including some "big names" of the Mexican ornithology. The unanimous consensus was orchard, based on structure and plumage: https://www.facebook.com/groups/357272384368972/posts/24625729880429884 Tail is short (visible on third picture) and plumage is bright, with obvious wing bars. As for the bill, I found quite a lot of examples of female orchard (immatures?) with a short, thin, curved bill like in my photo. E.g.: https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/641747772 https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/641391549 https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/641353522 On the other hand, the bill of hooded orioles, while curved, is a bit longer and thicker. I'm content with putting this back as an orchard, as the feedback concords with what I saw in the field.
