Midcrown darkish slate gray as back. Not Pygmy Batis because tail longish as can be seen in some of the photos, superciliary stripes almost reach central nape spot (on left side of face specially) and breast band maroon-chestnut (not orange-rufous). Not Western Black-headed because crown and back gray in strong contrast to sides of face and wings. Not Chinspot Batis because no chin spot. Seen 1 hr after Brown-rumped Bunting, 2 hr 40 min before early lunch at Karenga kopjes.
