New mound location!! First established some time in the winter holidays (<4 weeks ago). In that little garden with seats opposite the car park at Wally’s Walk. Lots of rain recently, so great for mound building. Breeding season started in July, so perfect time. This location is a lot more wet/shaded/enclosed than the old location near biological sciences Frank Mercer garden. This morning, I observed F and M both digging a deep hole in the centre of the mound (7:45am). A third Turkey was around, but not involved in mound activities. Came back to the mound later (11.30am) and the hole was filled in, suggesting egg deposit!! They may deposit more later, but this is extremely promising! I am incredibly excited.
