NOTES: A pothole on first road east of Hwy. about 2.5-3 miles south of Hwy.; Male calling in presence of female (WWHG) [This recording contains mostly, if not exclusively, the "Burp" Call given by a male. Cramp et al. (1977. Handbook of the birds of Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa: the birds of the Western Palearctic. Vol. 1. Oxford University Press, Oxford) provides the best description of this call, which is pictured in Fig. I on page 491. I am unsure if the soft "chattering" in the background represents the "tickety-tickety-tickety" Feeding Chatter of this species, as described in BNA acocunt. Quality added (2 -reaching 2-1 in places between blackbird songs - this is the BEST available cut of the "burp" given by males) - CAM - 21 March 2005].
